This blog post, by Ian Maurer is a quick and easy read about how extensions can really make a task sing (or chirp). This blog post reminds me that a stories task can start off simple and with the right perspective, can make the mathematics very deep and complex.

A man in Finland received a speeding ticket and had to pay $103,000! The penalty was so harsh because fines in Finland are based not just on the severity of the offense, but on the offender’s income. Can students figure out Vanjoki’s annual income?

The co-opting of language like “good trouble” without interrogating what that actually means is irresponsible. The all white starter pack of educators “getting in good trouble” had good intentions, I’m sure… but the impact is exclusion and alienation. Good trouble would have meant doing the WORK 1/

My white women sky people… I offer a read for you. When most white feminists mention women’s rights, they don’t REALLY mean Black women. I encourage us all to know the history and do better. Black women continue to labor for everyone while simultaneously being made invisible.
