DOGE has apparently been terminated 8 months ahead of schedule.

So does that mean we can now tell MAGAs that all the "fraud, waste, and abuse" in government has been eliminated?

I see some MAGAs are social media are confused right now due to not being sure if they're supposed to like Mamdani or hate him since his meeting with Trump.

Don't worry, guys - I'm sure Trump will resume attacking Mamdani within a few weeks or so.

Just a reminder that one of the first things Trump did when he returned to office was to replace the officials who determined what constituted legal military orders.

Once a month or so I check who I'm following over on Twitterx, because almost every month I'm suddenly unfollowed from at least one and usually several left-wing accounts without me being the one who did the unfollowing.
If you're trying to convince your friends to spend time on Bluesky rather than X, maybe show them this. X is not "the public town square" or about "free speech." It's "just what Elon Musk wants you to see." If you see stuff he doesn't like he'll step in to make sure you don't see it for long.
If you scroll on X, you are only being shown what Elon wants you to see. If you create content on X, no one will see it unless Elon wants them to.

MAGAs are so confused at this point when it comes to what talking point they're supposed to use for the Epstein files that they're saying it's a Democrat hoax that's full of Democrats.

I just noticed today that a house I pass on my commute which has a TRUMP 28 sign also flies an extremely tattered American flag, and I think this is a great symbol of the state of things today.
November 20, 2025 at 1:26 AM
In a backhanded way it's heartening that so many MAGAs on social media are now trying to explain away Trump's "Quiet Piggy" comment instead of rushing to defend him - or turn it into a Trump t-shirt.

Remember—if you gather an armed mob blocks from the seat of your government at a time it's closed to the public, a crime to trespass on, and accessible only by overwhelming cops, then tell them that unless they "fight like hell" at that building they'll lose their country, it's not inciting violence

Since Trump is so very concerned about Nigerian Christians facing violence, is he planning to adjust his new refugee rules to allow more Nigerian Christians to seek asylum in the U.S.?

I live in a struggling rural area of Virginia where a lot of residents are on some non-SSI form of government assistance.

And yet in the wake of the SNAP freeze I'm still seeing a spike of "If you're poor it's your own fault" by people who are poor but somehow in THEIR case it's not their fault.

I'm not exactly sure how many Virginia Republicans I know are quiet today versus how many of them I'd simply already muted.

I'll admit I'm kind of befuddled by Trump fingering the shutdown for the blue wave yesterday. Did Republicans stop trying to blame Democrats for the shutdown when I looked away for a minute?

"A million people will leave New York City if Mamdani wins."

Is one of them Donald Trump?

"Spanberger is a hypocrite because if she really believed in DEI she would've let Earle-Sears become VA's black governor."

No, she'd only be a hypocrite based on what Republicans claim DEI is, not the real thing.

Today's fun thing is that I discovered an article from the August 1932 issue of Confederate Veteran titled "Why 'War Between the States'" by Marian Fleming of Brundige, Alabama. The article was answering why the war happened.

Much of her answer: To protect slavery. So "woke" even in 1932!

Republicans consoling themselves today: "At least President Trump is still in charge!"

And I keep thinking, "Is he though? Is he really?"

When I voted today the lady at the tallying machine inadvertently gave me two I Voted stickers, and without thinking I handed one of them back. Now I wish I'd kept the extra to slap it on my shirt some random day about six months from now to make everybody worry they'd missed an election.

Virginia MAGAs, is this the point where I'm supposed to say "Cry more, cons"?

I'm increasingly thinking the whole reason the ballroom is coming into existence is as a distraction for Trump.

Thune admitted last weekend that Republicans could end the shutdown with the nuclear option but won't.

I suspect that's partly because at this point they'd have to explain to everyone why they could've ended it a month ago but didn't.

I disagree with my home state of Virginia's Gov. Glenn Youngkin on the lion's share of issues, but I'll give credit where credit is due - thank you, governor, for stepping in to fund Virginia's new SNAP stopgap for as long as state funding holds out.
