I've been off all my social media for months, but I heard Nate Silver shit on Bluesky, so here I am joining back in just to spite him.

The cardiac wing at my hospital requires valet parking, but the valet parking closes before the appointments end. Because that makes sense.

This many adults collectively realizing checks and balances aren't going stop what's happening and redeem our government is like an entire primary school being told Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny aren't real at an assembly.

Take a brain break and (re)watch Damson Chola Jr.'s performance of "Make Them Hear You" from "Ragtime" at last year's @jimmyawards.bsky.social. It's good for the soul to recognize young people's talents + capabilities, remember the enduring fortitude of our communities, and enjoy the arts.

I heard there are more genders than guns, so there's no way to regulate it. Even if they make laws, there is so much black market gender out there, not to mention the types of pronouns available on the dark web.

THANK YOU, UnitedHealth Care, for authorizing the meds my doctor prescribed!

Prior authorization is a beautiful reminder that no matter how isolating chronic illness/disability feel, you're always there, guiding the course of my treatment through your exceptions, denials, & preauthorizations. 💖

The year is 2035. I meet President AOC in the Oval Office. "You've done well," she says. "By telling men to dress gay, you've lowered the population rate by 90%, thereby reducing carbon emissions." She slides me a manilla envelope. I can now afford a home in a walkable neighborhood

You can want all the people and animals to be safe and for California to have plenty of firefighters all while simultaneously remaining 1000% against exploiting the labor of incarcerated people.

Slavery as punishment of crime is still enslavement.

I just finished listening to an ARC of A Killing Cold by Kate Alice Marshall, and if you like the idea cozy winter cabin read filled with wealthy family drama and lightly spiced with recollections of Christian trauma, you should put it on your TBR right now.

Just saw an ad for a hooded fleece that started, "You're not a child! You're a MAN. So stop wearing so many layers to go outside."

So, Men of Bluesky, does dressing for the elements destabilize your gender identity & sense of self? If so, what level of frostbite would secure your masculinity?

News Years Resolution Reminders!

We do not all have the same 24-hours in a day.

Diet culture and fat phobia are toxic, sneaky tools of oppressive systems.

You can set and release goals at any time or not make any at all.

Focusing on survival instead of improvement is not shameful.

Flight attendant just said "Welcome to Delta, America's perfect airline," so it's safe to say they do not measure perfection by accessisibility, disability inclusion, and transparency but that's their choice!! 🥰

Also, the bathroom near my seat wasn't cleaned before boarding started--lol

Started my day by watching edits of Shadow slowly make it to the top of the hill to reunite with Peter because I make great decisions for my mental well-being

Alt: Shadow, an old golden retriever, slowly appears between plants in a field during the reunion scene in Homeward Bound. At this moment in the film, the family has assumed Shadow didn't make it, and Chance and Sassy have already been reunited with the family.

5 days before my flight, Delta tells me I can no longer travel with my pet in cabin because I use an portable oxygen concentrator (never been an issue previously). This apparent policy is not available on their website, and there is no documentation they can share. Anyone else experience this?
