I’ve never been less hopeful and don’t know how to tell the people in my life. I’ve been struggling for so long, and it feels like I’ve exhausted how long I’m allowed to not be okay. But things just keep getting worse. I don’t know what to do. I’m drowning and don’t know who/how to ask for help.

I was opening a Play-Doh container for my friend’s daughter (5) just now, and I was struggling. I told her it was very tough, and I needed to use my muscles. She replied: “Well, you are big, Macrae. So, your muscles are big.” I think there’s a lesson for me in there somewhere. 🥹

Sometimes when I'm at my lowest (today), I remember the time I won one of these bagel bundles from Zabar's. Life can be really, really awful, but sometimes you win some smoked salmon and it's a little less terrible. Maybe someday you'll win fish again, Macrae. Something to hang on to.
