I really, REALLY hate how people are trying to suggest that AI is like the replicators from Star Trek.
1) The most useful AI could ever be is if it starts having a higher than 60% success at creating spreadsheets. But,
2) Even if it actually worked, it still drains SO much resources.

So, uh, I went to Auschwitz last week. One thing that surprised me was how inefficient it was. The majority of the system didn't work and was operating under-resourced/over-capacity.

Honestly, the most insane thing about Derek Jarman's 'Jubilee' is that to make London look post-apocalyptic they...did nothing. Parts of London still had rubble and ruins from WW2 and all the crew did was set some props on fire.

I think people need to understand that 'First They Came' is not about a slippery slope. It's about fascism. In particular: how it's a death cult. There's no such thing as a 'peaceful,' 'appeased,' or even 'happy' fascist. They will NEVER stop. That's why you give fascists NOTHING.

Yeah, to the people saying I'm a hypocrite for being anti gen-AI despite using spelling and grammar correction tools: take it away and I can still write. Occasionally I'll use the wrong 'their' but it'll still be *my* work. Take away your AI and you have nothing but "please write an article for me."

This whole thing of demanding games have to be remade is like insisting they re-paint The Night Watch or re-write War and Peace.
The whole point is that it existed in the time it was produced! Can't get your head around Persona 4? Final Fantasy IX? Fucking Hamlet? That's a skill issue.

The best thing about cutting Harry Potter out of your life is that not only can you replace it with actual good fiction, not only can you replace it with actual good fantasy, but you can also replace it with *other* C-Tier fantasy if there really is an aching void for something utterly mediocre.

Still incredible to me that, as a middle eastern carpenter born in a stable who at least once was an asylum seeker, the majority of 'good Christians' would at best throw Jesus in a camp. At worst, they would crucify him all over again.
