For 140 billion we could have universal child care according to Penn Wharton. Instead we chose to use it for violence. #Econsky
Immigration.

This bill is very aggressive on immigration.

- $50 billion for the border wall and other barriers
- $45 billion for detention centers for immigrant families
- $14 billion for deportee transportation

In total, it's $140-some billion for deportations and border security.
What’s in Trump and Republicans’ giant tax and immigration bill?
How what Trump has called his “big, beautiful bill” could change the federal government and the U.S. economy.

Within the next seven months people will lose healthcare access. Healthcare costs will go up for everyone within the next year as uncompensated care risks increase.

I have been working in state and federal advocacy for decades- I have never been so saddened by a budget markup in my life. Right now Ways and means- millions of citizen children will not qualify for child tax credit if ONE of their parents is without a SSN. They got the bill to read yesterday.

Republicans on Sunday shows this morning confirm we are two- three weeks out from empty shelves and layoffs in shipping and trucking. This will drive up prices for domestic goods too. I’m stocking my family up this weekend, hoping I’m wrong.

The goal shouldn’t be increasing a birthrate — it should be affording all working families the dignity to support themselves and their loved ones with things like paid leave and affordable care.

And the rest of us pay the price…
Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines.

When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

But this time out the band kids in charge and make everyone line up. It will creep everyone out if we actually look organized.
Let’s do it again

Truth, and states which empower women also do better. Not a coincidence.
If GOP policies actually
helped the economy,
red states wouldn’t keep
showing up at the bottom
for income, education, health,
and independence from federal aid.

Every retailer passing along a higher price to a consumer should label it trump tax on the receipt. You know so we know who to thank for all the greatness.
