💯Clean air delivery rate (CADR) is more important than HEPA rating! I have been buying portable air cleaners for the lab and home that are not HEPA-level but offer a high CADR per dollar spent and low noise.

Marwa Zaatari's comparison chart from 2021 is a good way to think about this.
