"You, of course, realize the need to make stupid jokes and comments is just a defense mechanism."

"Yeah, but it's the BEST one!"
Is it just me, or has this image been conjured up in anyone else's mind recently?

"Why can't you get it through your head!
We are murdering you for your own safety!"

The number of times the current GOP uses the phrase "It was a joke" or "he was only joking" one would think they are working harder on honing their "tight 5 minutes" rather than any actual governance.

But it is hard to tell, because they are seemingly incapable of either.

So, the argument is, once elected, you are exempt, not only from the law, but from basic human decency?

Cheating isn't strength.
Ignoring the law is not proof of your intellectual superiority.

These are children masquerading as responsible adults.
Treat them as such.

Stop disseminating propaganda.

Good intentioned or not, it fans the flames of that which we must snuff out, entirely.

Spread the facts & truth, only.

The fact these idiots are wearing green camouflage in the middle of a Minnesota winter tells you pretty much all you need to know about their competence and training.

I fear too many of these individuals are just itching for a chance to use their gun on a fellow human being.
ICE agents stopped by protesters after the shooting an observer in Minneapolis, according to witnesse. ICE deployed pepper spray and tear gas.

This is not how we do things in America.

If everyone does not get on board with that simple statement quickly, we are done for, if we aren't already.

I really hope someone can ID this individual quickly.

The lack of consequences has led to this kind of behavior, and it is a trend that needs to be reversed sooner rather than later.
According to witnesses, this is the masked ICE agent who shot the driver in Minneapolis. He shot from the side into the vehicle.

This is him walking away from the crashed vehicle.

"And trust me, I know my stupid people. I kind of consider myself an expert on stupid people. Some might say I am the stupid person's stupid person, but that is just flattery....I think."

Are you furious?

Good.

I am, too.

You know why?

Bc unrelenting gaslighting plus normalization of authoritarian behavior should and would make any sane person furious.

So, my fellow sane citizens, know that you are in good company.

Resist.

What are the odds that Donald Trump pulled the Venezuela thing just to try to show Putin "I am a big strong man like you"

A teacher of mine did her thesis on how you could track the average prevailing wind directions in any US city by looking at where the affluent neighborhoods were located in relations to the lower income communities.

Made sense and the data supported the theory, the rich live upwind.
keep thinking of a vocally anti-woke reporter who insisted that the term "environmental racism" was nonsense
After a white county in South Carolina rejected a data center, developers have sets their sights on a Black community for a proposed data center complex the size of 1,200 football fields

Thank goodness for Pete that you can't sprain your neck blowing yourself metaphorically.
Hegseth takes the mic and starts denigrating a CNN reporter for asking a "disingenuous question," adding, "you're trying to find any angle possible to undermine the success of one of the most historic military missions the world has ever seen"

Is it irony that so many in the current administration and Congress are more in love with their position than they are their power?

This could all be put to an end if it weren't the for craven cowardice of those who keep lecturing us on "strength."

And that part is definitely irony.

When I first saw Lord of the Rings, I thought it was odd that Mordor was a gated community.

Then my girlfriend pointed out that it probably means they have an HOA...and the whole story made WAY more sense.

One thing about being the "Good Guys" is that, like being a "Ladies Man", if you are spending time trying to convince people you are one, you are probably full of sh!t.

Trump claiming he is going to run Venezuela considering the current state of the United States reminds me of that guy who won't put money into his wife's car which barely runs but then buys on an old Camaro body with no engine which he keeps in his front yard because he is going to "fix it up."
Q: What's your response to voters who voted for you who are worried about a forever war in Venezuela?

TRUMP: The voters who voted for me are thrilled. The said, this is what we voted for

The only thing "taken in" are the people who still don't get how tariffs work.
We The People are the media, since fake news doesn’t want to do their jobs. I’m sure they can do it, but simply choose not to. #PresidentTrump #Tariffs #Amercia

Just because you are white, it does not follow that you are one of the people who "created the modern world."

The same people who tell others descended from slaves to "get over it, that was a long time ago" still take want to take credit for things done by someone else almost 100 years ago.

Agreed.

For many in our nation, profit has become the greatest virtue. No matter how bad your actions are, they are viewed through the lens of the "bottom line."

Sociopaths who put wealth before well-being of humans have been enabled for 40 years now, and people still ask "how did we get here?"
The wealthy are always so GD worried some poor people are gonna commit some small time fraud. Meanwhile, big corporations are committing HUGE afraid. Just look at defense contractors.

Why? Because we have all been taught to see the wealthy as virtuous and to see the poor as lazy and unworthy.
