Renaissance artist Elisabetta Sirani made so many paintings (over 200!) in such a short time that people doubted she painted them. Her solution? In 1664, she invited them to watch her paint a portrait in one sitting!

[20] One of the things where the National Gallery of Ireland is ahead of other countries is the collection & display of great works by historic women painters. It continues to do that & here is a beautiful Virgin & Child (1660) by the important painter Elisabetta Sirani (1638-65)
