My daily conversations with my spouse now include:
- What is the trigger point that we feel is when our family will need to leave the U.S.?
- What countries could we legally live in?
- What supplies and shelf-stable food can stock up now, being that mega inflation and food shortages are coming?

Two Italian women who inspire me:
Goliarda Sapienza (1924-1996)
and
Carla Capponi (1918-2000)

Both fought fascism and sexism and made profound positive impacts with their courageous ness and creativity.

I’m so captivated by these paintings by Gaetano Chierici and other similar artists. Intimate moments of everyday famiglia life that feel SO similar to our own but also are vastly different in ways I could never fully know.

We clearly cannot trust Meta or TikTok. All the content I am now getting suggested is right-wing Christian SAHMs with 4-6 kids showing how to have a picture-perfect life. It’s terrifying.

Our eyes need art, especially as a respite during this doom-filled time. Some Italian woman artists whose work moves me: Artemisia Gentileschi, Lavinia Fontana, Fede Galizia, & Elisabetta Sirani
