BB, amateur photography, politics/current events. I lack the mental bandwidth to run separate accounts for different interests, so I encourage you to use the 'mute words/tags' feature. All photos mine unless otherwise noted.

If you follow me for Big Brother and don't want to see political posts, mute #poli

If you follow me for politics and don't want to see Big Brother, mute #bb27

If you follow me for photos or random gibberish, and don't want to see politics or Big Brother, feel free to mute both.
'My' raven has trained me well: call until I come outside with the camera, then pose patiently as I walk back and forth in search of a clean background for portraits.

Angry-cleaning my pantry has unfortunately backfired. All I've accomplished so far is to spread the mess into my kitchen/dining room, just adding to my annoyance.

Hey Mikey, what about the sovereign borders of...oh,say...Venezuela, Panama, Greenland, Canada etc etc etc? #poli
Q: Pope Leo cited Matthew 25:35 to critique Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda. How would you respond to Pope Leo in scripture?

MIKE JOHNSON: Sovereign borders are biblical and right and just. It's not because we hate the people on the outside. It's because we love the people on the inside.

All I want for Groundhog Day is for @support.bsky.team to take note of @merriam-webster.com's cheeky demonstration of why bsky desperately needs 'turn off reposts by user'.

I just realized correcting a typo broke my 'artist neighbour' thread before I got anywhere near the point of the story, so here's the rest:
She's done probably around 30 of these large (16x20 and 24x36) paintings since then, including one of a chickadee in a tree at my parents house that I gave my mom for her birthday, and a greyscale of a moody photo I took of a flicker in the rain for me.

My favorite neighbour is 86 years old and a phenomenal painter of landscapes. She doesn't take commissions, doesn't sell them...just paints whatever she wants to and then gives them to a nursing home or to charity auctions.

I feel like there's bound to have been a study somewhere sometime that proved that giving people paid time off for doing Bad Things motivates those around them to also do Bsd Things.

I can't even imagine how much Tylenol the career foreign service officers stationed in Milan are going through at this point.

This sent me down a mental rabbit hole of logistical wtf-ery. In the unlikely event this actually happens, then what? I was born in Alberta but live in BC. Would I still legally be Canadian, or would I be considered an immigrant?
Bessent pushes Albertan independence from Canada: "Albertans are very independent people. There's a rumor they may have a referendum on whether they want to stay in Canada or not. People are talking. People want sovereignty. They want what the US has got."

If it wasn't for the two cougars sighted in the park, I'd be going for a long anger walk right about now.

I have an air fryer because it cost a lot less than installing AC. I can't use my oven for 6 months of the year, it just adds too much heat to an already hot room. 🤷‍♀️

And it's cheaper to run than the oven anyway.

While I'm sure they'd deny it (until they don't), they are very clearly telegraphing what else is coming.

In any statement they make about being 'underprotected' & essentual to the 'northern region' just sub in Canada for Greenland.

Do what you can now to be ready.

20+ years later I've finally gotten around to watching Dead Like Me. Even though I could tell almost immediately that it was filmed in Canada, somehow I still wasn't expecting Pascal Hutton, Robin Dunne or Dustin Milligan. How were they even adults way back then? Sorcery! 🤷‍♀️

When surrounded by trees and (for weeks at a time) clouds, a person can become a bit obsessed with how they interact.

That person is obviously me.

My neighbours are playing one song on repeat at top volume.

I'm pretty sure they're thinking how hilarious it would be if I demanded they turn down The Sound Of Silence.
