I feel so alone right now, and like my sexuality doesn’t match what I desire from a long-term mate. I want intimacy, I want a relationship, but don’t know how to go beyond casual sex to achieve that, and I don’t even understand how other gay men do it either. I feel like I haven’t found my people.

Not to seem extremely petty, but, as a gay man living in Utah, I don’t think I would want to date an ex-Mormon ever again. I’ve found that they’re never upfront with their desires and almost ashamed of being gay. The lack of passion is not desirable to me, and often, they’re not experienced either.

I’ve reached a certain age where I’m now disillusioned by the gay lifestyle that I see plastered across social media and gay influencers. I’ve never experienced that lifestyle myself, and now, owing to my disillusionment, I don’t know that I really want to.

I’ve recently thought about developing a sort of timeline with the evolution of my sense of self over the years, which honestly and quite embarrassingly, was based off of the books that I had been reading at the time. I would always identify with some character, taking on their traits and personas.

That’s a pretty riveting metaphor for the natural cycle and echelons of Earth, where mineral necessarily provides the basis for plant through its essential being, plant provides nutrients to animal, and animal was the natural, more instinctual precursor to humanity and our capacity for intellect.

It’s funny how conservatives see homosexuals and transgender individuals as inherently sexual. It’s as if they learn about our sexualities and think we’re completely weird and inhuman, or that it makes us so essentially different to them.
