These two patients were just absolute sweethearts 🥺 I'm not great at caricatures (and can't be too close cuz of HIPAA anyway) but I'm so glad I made their day with this lil thank-you doodle. Thank you for making my day a lil brighter!

A while ago, a patient at work and I had matching #Totoro wallets! When I asked their favorite #Ghibli movie, I couldn't resist a little post-it crossover doodle. I like to think Howl would be amused but a little confused by the spirits, their reasoning beyond his understanding- at least, at first

I vended at Meadville Pride today BUT THE IMPORTANT PART was that I was offered a rat to hold and it immediately scampered onto my shoulder, boggled its lil eyes, and began to fall asleep in my hands. Immediate trust. I am a rat whisperer now.

Was very lucky at work today, and got to see an Imperial Moth. It seemed to be close to their last hours, so since they can't eat at this stage, I took it to the shadiest spot near my building. I've seen Luna's and Rosy's, but this was my first seeing an Imperial!

There’s a passage in the Talmud that can be understood as suggesting that male-male sex is prohibited (for married men) because they’re afraid it’ll make them leave their wives. Which seems to be an implicit admission that gay sex rocks.

Here's What You Can Do NOW I am absolutely pissed and disgusted at how ICE is treating our city, clearly racially profiling us and using people being Mexican as "reasonable suspicion." However, protesting isn't the only tool we have. We can and should pass a law in California that requires ICE to have a judicial warrant before they can conduct immigration enforcement on public property managed by the state or local governments. That means places like sidewalks, public transit stations, schools, hospitals, libraries, and city-owned parking lots would be off-limits unless ICE gets a real warrant from a judge. This would neuter ICE in California and would prevent further actions like what has happened recently in LA from occurring again. ICE almost never uses judicial warrants; they rely on administrative warrants issued internally by ICE. This would be a massive middle finger. Please call your state senators and ask them to consider drafting or introducing a bill like this. Some of them already have parts of this in progress, and hearing from you gives them the backbone to push it forward. My state senator is Lola Smallwood-Cuevas. I called her office and they said they were working on something like this and that they really appreciate knowing she has public backing. What just happened in LA could have been prevented or at least made much more difficult. We do not have to wait for the next outrage. We can act now. Go to this link to find your state senator and/or assembly member and demand action: https://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov Click on their hyperlink which will take you to their website, then scroll all the way down to their contact info and phone numbers. Ideally, call their district office. Wait until Monday so you have a better chance of speaking to a staffer. Over the weekend it will mostly be voicemail, which is still useful, and you can also follow up with an email. Just to be clear, this wouldn't ban ICE from enforcing immigration law altogether. It would require them to have a judicial warrant before conducting enforcement actions on property owned or managed by the state or local government. That includes public schools, libraries, hospitals, sidewalks maintained by the city, and public transit areas. This is completely legal and consistent with California's existing sanctuary policies like SB 54. Here's a script you can say: "Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I'm a resident of [Your City or ZIP Code]. I'm calling because I'm extremely upset about the recent ICE raids in Los Angeles. They appear to be racially motivated and are causing fear in our communities Here's a script you can say: "Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I'm a resident of [Your City or ZIP Code]. I'm calling because I'm extremely upset about the recent ICE raids in Los Angeles. They appear to be racially motivated and are causing fear in our communities. I'm asking [Senator/Assemblymember] [Last Namel to consider introducing or supporting legislation that would ban all ICE enforcement actions on public property without a judicial warrant. That includes places like sidewalks, schools, hospitals, and transit areas. We need stronger protections for Californians. Please let [Senator/Assemblymember] [Last Name] know this matters to me, and I'll be following what action they take. Thank you."
