"If we truly want “global security,” we must invest in health as seriously as we do in the military – and not just when the crisis is burning at its brightest but also in times of relative stability and peace."

Global security is impossible without sufficient support for global health
Strong, well-functioning health systems are as vital as advanced weaponry, military strategy, and intelligence for global security, writes former CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

I think it would be a GREAT idea if the Democrats and Republicans turned their vast fundraising machines towards funding food banks across the country. They could try to out raise each other.

@democrats.org I'd tag the Republicans but I don't see a presence here.

Library of Congress staff just showed what resistance looks like. After Trump abruptly fired Dr. Carla Hayden, the respected Librarian of Congress, he tried to install Todd Blanche, his former personal lawyer and current Deputy Attorney General, as acting librarian. Staff weren’t having it.

In the increasingly bitter trade war between the U.S. and China, perhaps nobody has more at stake than America’s soybean farmers, whose crop has become the country’s single biggest export to China.

We spoke to an Iowa farmer who helped build that $13 billion market. Listen to "The Daily."

Doing some deeper digging.

After Hoover died there were serious concerns voiced in the press about Nixon's choice to replace him -- L. Patrick Gray -- a real Nixon man. Concerns he would politicized the FBI.

And they were correct! He did do this, & there was internal pushback.
