It has been the Republican mantra for a long time. Reduce the size of gov, we spend too much. This is what that looks like when put into practice. 20% cuts to NOAA, 50% cuts to Dept of Ed, downsizing the VA and Social Security, slashing the Inst for Museum & Library Serv. Cutting funds to farmers.

I often hear R's say that the book banners etc are far right and both far right and far left are bad but they don't represent normal R's. But that's not true. They're your elected representatives, they're your leaders. You're not going back to Bush days. That party is dead, you are MAGA now.

When Trump lost the 2020 election and stole all the classified documents he was stealing from the National Archives. When he refused to return the top secret documents the librarians sicced the FBI on him. Now back in power, he's been firing all the people involved in that case. This is facism.

Historians will have a word for Americans who join MAGA, not because they hate LGBTQ/POC, but out of hope for restored patriotism, or sense of economic anxiety, or hope to preserve their religious values, or dislike of their opponents. That word is MAGA. Nobody will care bout their motives anymore.
