If reports are true, the OpenAI io device is a "third core device" meant not to replace the smartphone or computer, but sit beside them.

Supposedly screenless, but not glasses.

According to Sam Altman, "the coolest piece of technology that the world will have ever seen."

Excited to be quoted in today's World Trademark Review article (and in the headline) about the recent summary judgment in Thomson Reuters v. Ross.

Does anyone else feel like there's still too much good AI research content on X to be able to leave?

Someone with groyper in their username told me to "f off jew" so I reported them, and X just emailed back that there was no violation.

Anyway, happy Sunday and go birds

The US Copyright Office released part 2 of its report on AI this week.

While not the policy overhaul many hoped to see, the guidance is welcome.

TL;DR - output of prompts, without any additional human contribution, is still not protectable.

Today, a throwback. The screenshot is from a paper I wrote 7 years ago.

Many of today's "AI legal experts" pay no mind to the philosophers who have been thinking about AI for far longer than lawyers.

For me, cognitive science often gets to the core of what my AI clients are building and deploying.

I had a post do well this week.

> 50k impressions
> 35k unique viewers
> 200 engagements, mostly supportive

< 15 negative responses

It's easy to fall into the trap of focusing too much on critics.

But perspective is key, and new ideas are often scrutinized.

It means they're taking it seriously.
