When creating a portfolio, assume that nobody will read anything. The visuals should be enough to show off your skills. Keep the text to a minimum. No recruiter is going to read your 850 word character description.

As an entry level artist, your CV and cover letter are almost irrelevant compared to a good portfolio. I've never seen anyone with a mediocre portfolio and great CV get hired.
