No idea what targets were set/met to warrant this pay rise but I do know that for £185k he's being asked to regulate an industry worth billions that's led by CEOs who are paid millions. That disparity is never going to work!
Imagine if companies couldn't pay their CEOs more than the CEO of OFWAT?

It's horrific that JD Vance would go to Dachau yesterday, talk about being "deeply moved," then spend today telling Germans to welcome into government the Holocaust-minimizing, far-right AfD. But it also needs to be the final nail in the coffin of "Holocaust museum as ritual penance for bigotry."

Bizarre request of regulators indeed.
We had this approach with the Tories and it led, amongst other things, to sewage in rivers and a cladding crisis.

Backlash? This from my local counsellor "Government forces us to release [arable Greenbelt] land for building. We are totally dependent on developers for sites they chose to develop."

Starry Night always makes me smile. Once asked my youngest if he remembered how amazing it was to be able to see every brush stroke when he'd seen it for real and he said "Of course, my teacher only showed us it today in assembly, I'm hardly going to have forgotten it already!" So much for live art!
