Yes, VanMoof went bankrupt, and Rad Power may follow suit.

But I'd argue that consolidation in the e-bike industry is a sign of maturity -- much like in the auto industry a century ago.

Funny how many people support "neighborhood greenways" but not "bike boulevards" -- even though they're exactly the same thing.

@davidzipper.bsky.social on Europe's turn against urbanism (i.e. the rise of Motorists for Themselves, a Czech party, and Meloni's allies rallying against "useless bike lanes"):

"it's not just North America that's facing a real backlash right now; it feels like it's happening in Europe too."

In the latest @lookbothwayspod.bsky.social, I noted that economic arguments can broaden political support for limiting urban cars and creating bike-/ walk-friendly places.

It's working in conservative South France!

New pod—our 10th!—is now up.

Much to discuss:

▪️ Have Europe's urbanist reforms sparked a backlash?
▪️ Does anyone outside academia know what "transportation access" means?

and finally...
▪️ What's the best beer after a long bike ride?
