My Ggodkids, 6 and 4 years old, got to play this for the first time today and they love it! Highly recommend 😊
🎉The Wyrmlings RPG PDF edition is now officially released!

You can buy it on my webstore (the place where I'll get the most from your purchase), or on DriveThruRPG or Itch if you prefer 😄

Getting to see all the crazy ideas I have made into physical reality with the help of artists, writers, editors, and of course all my backers is just amazing. The last 5 years have been great. My hope for the next 5 is that maybe I can stop working 2 full-time jobs and focus on just one - this one.

Something I don't discuss in the full retrospective but shouldn't be forgotten is all the awesome people I've met in the last 5 years! I've formed a lot of friendships as a result of working on these projects and just existing in this space, and I'm incredibly grateful for that.

Another thing I've learned in these last five years is how important "metals" are on DriveThruRPG for sales. I've seen noticeable increases in regular sales of products as soon as they hit a bestseller status on the platform. While sales on DTRPG aren't a big income source for me, it's grown a lot.
January 2, 2026 at 6:04 PM
Since then, I've run four more crowdfunding campaigns, all with varying degrees of success. Due to the art needs and size of some books (and the number of copies needed to continue sales afterward), most campaigns to date have been break even at best. They're an investment in the future.

But I also learned a *lot* in the process. I commissioned a couple more pieces of art (including the all-important cover), had some more professional looking graphic design done for the Kickstarter page, got better pricing quotes, and re-launched a bit under a year later to great success.

Meanwhile, I was working on getting my first "flagship" book ready for crowdfunding. In the late summer of that first year, I launched Injuries and Vile Deeds on Kickstarter. And it failed to fund. I'd set the goal too high, and didn't have the pre-launch audience I needed.

When I got started, I had ambitious plans but realistic expectations. I started out by publishing on DriveThruRPG to start building a portfolio and an audience. Every month, I'd release a free monster or NPC on my website and to DTRPG.

I've written up a version of it in the thread below, but you can find the whole thing on my website (linked).

I don't get into too much detail about actual business finances (spoiler alert, I don't get paid yet), but I figured some might be interested in where all the money from crowdfunding goes.

2026 is the 5th anniversary for Lone Colossus Games! I've been meaning to do crowdfunding project retrospectives for a while now, and I decided to take some time the last couple of weeks to write up a bit of a 5-year retrospective for the business.

Honestly feels harder to *not* support a diverse group of designers with how many amazing people there are out there making awesome games. Like it feels like you'd have to go out of your way to do that.

As a designer, once I know the game the main thing is searchability so that I can easily find what I need/confirm if something is included in it.

Aside from that style guides and things are also useful but I usually see those separate from the SRD

(Unless you're going to PAX, in which case go to booth 3863 to grab a copy)

After that it's going to be a while before I can get more!
November 17, 2025 at 3:44 AM
I have a handful of "imperfect" copies that I've listed now as well with a slight markdown. A small restock is expected in the next couple of months, but if you want a copy before the holidays this is basically your last chance!
November 17, 2025 at 3:44 AM
By the way, there are only TWO copies of Tome of Intangible Treasures left in stock at the moment!
November 17, 2025 at 3:44 AM
If I made a new sale for 1% of the times one of my books has been pirated, I might be doing this full time. And you'd get more frequent releases, because I'd be getting paid and wouldn't be working the equivalent of two full-time jobs.
November 10, 2025 at 3:42 PM
If you need a copy, just ask. If you love my book, share that love on a legit site! I'm glad my books get 5/5 stars on piracy sites, but like...when it's had so much traffic that the search engine puts it first? I *have* to take it down so that people can find the legitimate options.
November 10, 2025 at 3:42 PM
Look, I get that not everyone can afford to buy even a PDF. If you contact me I will send you one for FREE. And I usually ignore piracy sites *unless they show up higher in search results than my own site*
