Analyst, Aussie, car nerd, dad.
I like engineering, electronica, occasional harsh language. Heavy Industry and complex system Asset Management. Regular smart ass. If you can take my comment two ways, assume the nice way first.
Clearing out an old phone and found this beauty. AP5 Valiant by Chrysler. Built in Australia in the early 60s. They also had a Ute version called the Wayfarer. I'm sure I've got a pic of one of those around somewhere #weirdcarbs

Aww, cutie.
Apologies for potato quality. This was shot from the hip 🔫 as it was driving past on the other side of the road, between parked cars.

I was doing the opposite of Baked Alaska in a Jeep Wrangler, today. Not sure what you'd call it, but I had a pair of ripe rambutans and nipples that could cut glass. 🥵 @sniffpetrol.com @smithandsniff.bsky.social

Though not a #weirdcarbs for Oz, I thought y'all other folks may be interested in seeing the Kia Tasman in the wild. I took the XPro top spec to Noosa North Shore this weekend. Obviously untroubled by normal beach running, overall remarkably comfortable and competent. Would own.

The holiest of grails: Holden SSV Special Edition essentially disposed of the left over Pontiac G8 bits after GM went bust and took poncho out for a walk to the top paddock. Yes, there was a sedan(of course) a ute (a la G8ST) and this delicious V8 RWD wagon #weirdcarbs

Technically still #weirdcarbs because apparently behind the custom bobblehead of me that my son got me for Father's Day, is my Holden Commodore/Opel Insignia/schnell katze. At least they got the outfit right. 😁 Other references are provided below...

What would normally be a regular spotto, is something far more interesting. The last gasp of Ford Australia. With 183kw (245hp)

per tonne.
Officially 325kw (435hp)/ 576nm (425lbf ft) with 370 (496hp)/650 (480) 10 sec overboost.

The FG X XR6 Sprint.

Sorry for the potato quality 😬

Bonus: This trend continued, eventually becoming a faux flex on Commodores, even adorning the puny 3.0V6.
A piece of lore ironically diluted by those thinking they're playing along. #weirdcarbs

Back in ye olden days, you could option a 350 Chevrolet small block in Holden's, such as the Statesman, below. As this was bigger than the local Holden 253 and 308 engines, people would put the Chevy bowtie on the grille, denoting it's place in the cubic inch pecking order.

I can't recall if I've shared this local on #weirdcarbs A Holden 48-215 based panel van allegedly one of three built before three panel van became a thing with the FJ I think around 1951. Either way, it's rare AF, and it's good to see he's had it resprayed.
