Fantastic day in Clones Peace Link Centre giving astronomy talks to primary and secondary school students then up to the Phoenix Park visitor centre for a public astronomy event. Great turnout despite the weather. Really enjoying @ScienceWeek

I was very honoured to receive my medal of office tonight as President of the Irish Astronomical Society from past president Mick McCreary. As a society we have big plans to bring the joys of astronomy to more and more people. I’m looking forward to the adventures ahead

I can’t put it in my window, as per tradition, but it is lighting to remember those who can’t come home, for those who have no home and for those forced from their homes throughout this year. We don’t know how lucky we are with our comfort, food, luxuries.

At 3:02 pm today 21.12.24 (Irish time) we will be at winter mid point. From this point onwards we will start the slow journey out of winter. Today is a very short day but from now on we will be talking about the stretch in the evening. 😂
