Professor Noah Feldman was my classmate twice over. He is one of the more brilliant minds I have ever encountered. I love how he lays it plain here.

And then we wonder why people have such a skewed understanding of the world.

The Supreme Court on Friday granted the Trump administration’s emergency appeal to temporarily block a court order to fully fund SNAP food aid payments amid the government shutdown, even though residents in some states already have received the funds.

As a group of young musicians from the Lovett Hines Global Creative Arts Initiative performed John Coltrane compositions, the jazz legend’s son, saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, spoke about his relief at seeing the site rescued from potential destruction.
John Coltrane’s endangered Strawberry Mansion home is finally being restored and revitalized
The jazz legend bought the house at 1511 N. 33rd Street and lived there until 1958. Fires, demolition, and legal troubles have long threatened its survival.

Jane Goodall was one of my heroes too - surely one of the reasons I became a biological anthropologist and studied primate morphology. May her memory be a blessing for the worl.
Jane Goodall was my first childhood hero, as I loved animals as a kid and was inspired by her story. I still remember the National Geographic specials about her. RIP.

When I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal I applied for a small USAID grant that purchased the materials needed for a tree nursery and well for a local group. They produced and sold 1000 trees first year and 5000 the 2nd. It was the best thing I did during my 2 years. Thank you #USAID !
🇺🇸 September 2 is not just a date. It is the day America cast aside its servants abroad. My brothers and sisters at USAID you built schools healed wounds defended democracy. Today you are erased but your devotion endures. This nation cannot stand without you.
What We Lose, We Lose Together
To my colleagues at USAID, your absence is a wound to the nation, your service endures, and your voices are needed now to sustain our fragile democracy.

Trigger warning.

“In crashes, SUVs are more likely to strike vital organs in the core of adults’ bodies & heads of children. Hitting pedestrians above their center of gravity means they’re more likely to be knocked forward & down and then be driven over.”

Plus more likely to hit in the 1st place.

Pendleton Civil Service Reform Act - eat your heart out! 😏🙄

CDC’s new COO, Lynda Chapman, brings minimal public health experience, loyalty to Trump, and a side hustle selling photos of Trump & other GOP figures.

Thanks @jeremyfaust.bsky.social for bringing this to light.
Scoop: CDC has a new Chief Operating Officer. She appears to have minimal relevant experience.
We have some breaking news that I believe we are first to report here in Inside Medicine.
