I will forever remember the year that my father gave my Mom a new iron and ironing board. The Christmas spirit was sucked out of the house like Santa took it with him when he went back up the chimney. We kids gathered our gifts and went to our rooms, leaving those unwrapped yet under the tree.

My Gram was in a church group that crocheted helmet liner beanies for soldiers overseas for cushion and cold weather. She personally made over 1700. I loved her smile when she tried on every one to make sure of the quality. Shout out to Gram. 🫶

Grief is a beast. Our dog died and we adopted another dog right away. It wouldn't be fair to make one wait for us to be over it because we never will. I once paid a child $10 for a ball he won from the claw machine so Biscuit could have 30 seconds of fun before he popped it. Worth every penny.
