Told my teenage daughter that I was 'meeting' @davidolusoga.bsky.social as I was going to hear him speak as part of LJMU's Beyond Black History Month event. She said to me: tell him I'll also 'meet' him, because they show him in history class every day. 😂 What a fantastic, thought-provoking talk!

The private papers of pioneering transgender activist April Ashley have been secured in LJMU’s Special Collections.

Born in Liverpool, April became a model, actress and MBE honouree. Her personal papers, photographs and letters have been donated to the university.
