Liverpool Humanists: helping the non-religious majority to live happy, ethical and fulfilled lives, and be a force for good, within a City Region where rational thinking and kindness prevail.
Many humanists are concerned about the role of toxic masculinity in the crusade to dismantle caring societies. The topic of this year's Holyoake Lecture could not be more pertinent.

Come with us to the darkest corners of the manosphere...

Overdue recognition that humanism should be treated on an equal footing with major world religions. It’s a proud day for our community and a testament to what we can achieve together 🤗

Humanism is not a fringe or ‘woke’ idea; it is rooted in the very best of British traditions: fairness, reason, and believing in the good that people are capable of when free to live their lives without fear or prejudice.
Don't be dragged backward by a radical minority.

Mubarak spoke to the Humanist All-Party Parliamentary Group recently via Zoom. His story is extraordinary.
A highlight in Luxembourg so far is to welcome Mubarak Bala to his first international humanist general assembly. Although it is a disgrace that he cannot continue his work in Nigeria, it is a great relief to have him out of prison and safe in Europe!

Aesop's Fables were written over 2500 years ago. Many of them provide a great way to teach about humanist ethics and how we might live well together. We've provided some suggestions for where to start. understandinghumanism.org.uk/articles/hum...

We've campaigned for assisted dying for over 100 years, and today, MPs voted in favour of one. 'A historic step towards meeting the aspirations of the public, who overwhelmingly support having choice, dignity, and compassion.' @andrewcopson.bsky.social.

This week has shown just how important Humanist values are. I respect all my colleagues who voted differently but today I believe we in Parliament did a very good thing for humanity.
We did it. 🎉 MPs voted in favour of the #AssistedDyingBill and it has now passed Third Reading.

Nine years ago humanist MP Jo Cox was murdered by a British nationalist. Political violence against supporters of human rights and open societies is a real present danger. Jo’s death reminds us of that just as her life is a permanent memorial to the power of compassion. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jo_Cox

The #AssistedDyingBill has now had more hours of debate than any of the Private Members’ Bill of its kind, and we know the public is also paying attention, the majority of whom will be desperately hoping the law is changed to allow dignified, safe assisted deaths.
