Isabelle started writing short stories when she was 5 years old and hasn’t stopped since. Reading and writing are two of her favourite passions but here are a few more: roller skating, dancing, art and listening to music.

Isabelle Paruzel-Gibson is 10 years old and lives with her family in Burlington, Ontario, in beautiful Canada. She loves writing and hearing her own words flow together to become a story that makes readers escape to another world, just like how she feels when she reads.

"... if life was always perfect you would never be sad, or angry, and those emotions are very important. They make us human."

I’m behind on many things because there is simply too much in both my personal life and the world right now that is requiring my immediate attention. But I’m gearing up to share more about our Better Together issue and its amazing contributors soon!

If you are still waiting on a response to your submission to Issue 13: Head, Shoulders, Spleen and Nose, I appreciate your patience. I’m working as fast as I can to get emails sent and should have all decisions sent out by the end of the day today.

In addition to her little one and nature, Pallavi's writings are inspired by her experiences as an immigrant to this country, as well as by her role as a woman in STEM for over two decades.

Pallavi's poems have been published in The Dirigible Balloon and The Best Haiku 2025 international Anthology & a forthcoming issue of The School Magazine. After working for two decades as a computer chip designer, she was delighted to return to a lifelong passion for creative writing and poetry.

Pallavi Jesrani grew up in the land of Gandhi (India) and moved to the land of MLK Jr. (US) 25 years ago. She’s a mom to a 4-year-old bookworm of a boy, a children’s book writer, and a poet.
