I had a really uplifting day yesterday at the UK River Summit and Festival. An eclectic gatherings of people with a range of interests and motivations, but there is space for more academics (and definitely more hydrologists) in these important conversations

I have recently been gifted this beautiful piece of hydrometry history (it was originally given to my grandad). Some internet sleuthing suggests it’s from ~1940 but I’d love to know if any hydrometry experts know anymore about when current meters like this would have been used?
