I wondered what was causing the massive traffic delays (inching along over 90-min) on Wednesday. I couldn't see an accident scene. I am so saddened to learn of the reason for a massive traffic diversion off the hwy. Such a young man. I hope the police investigation is successful. Only 23.
The body of a 23-year-old man, reported missing since early November, was found alongside Hwy. 19A Wednesday afternoon.

Police are not commenting on the nature of his death, only to say they are pursuing a criminal investigation.

I understand this because narcissistic family members have always acted this way all my life and it has harmed me. I care. Even when I am very busy I take time to reply to all people - well known to me, acquaintances, strangers. I believe fiercely that actions speak volumes and that people matter.

Please be kind to everyone. It's easier to be kind to some people, more than others. We are complex beings and we have complex experiences w/ each other. This life is difficult and I ask you to please consider extending kindness to someone you are at odds with. I know kindness can save lives. ❤️🙏
Today is World Kindness Day, "highlights the power of kindness — to others, to yourself, and to the world."

My mother-in-law was mugged a decade ago & beaten over the head causing her to need brain surgery, brain damage & a host of other issues.

She gets a miniscule amount of social security because she was a housewife & she gets SNAP.

Trump stopping SNAP is cruel!

He's causing so much harm to so many.

"Underneath, at least 10,000 people are thought to be buried."

Sit with that a moment.

Canadian equivalent would be 186,000 people - families, children, grandparents, friends & loved ones - lives extinguished & buried by genocide's rubble of bombarded, collapsed buildings.

We need gender-sensitive mental health care
My medical education, more than 40 years ago, was centred around the male body as the normative human being. As the American feminist and legal activist Catherine Mackinnon wrote only a few years later in Difference and Dominance: on sex discrimination: ‘A male body is the human body; all those extra things women have are studied in ob/gyn’. That was at a time when there was no imperative even to include women in randomised controlled trials of treatment, and they were excluded for many more years because the impact of their pesky hormonal fluctuations got in the way of standardising groups and making comparison between subjects.

This sucks in all ways possible other than its a perfect example for my policy class about unintended barriers/how things get made illegal without the intention to make them illegal (pretty clear, right or wrong, the goal was keeping kids from operating ebikes, or unsafely riding on a scooter)
We have unfortunate news about passengers under 16 on e-bikes and e-cargo bikes in Ontario. It appears, they are not allowed. Read our blog for a deep dive on the law and what you can do in response:

E-Bikes and E-Cargo Bikes are a fantastic way to move people, but you may have to be 16 to ride as a passenger.
