Should we all just get along with Ben Shapiro? I argue otherwise: open.substack.com/pub/transver...

The internet is so good for fascist logics. People can label an entire identity group (multiple of late, really) as violent and unworthy of care without having ever MET someone in that group. You should have to have coffee with 5 trans people before you tweet an opinion about trans people. But alas.

I got so worked up about some lady wearing a "trans women are men" T-shirt out in public (at a farmers' market, for goodness sake!) the other day that I made a counter. Would anyone buy?

Also, let's be clear: they will try to say trans people started this fight, we picked the wrong battle, we're impractical or whatever. No. The ACLU opposed these cases going to SCOTUS, not least because our side already won in lower courts. SCOTUS is picking this fight for us.

Extremists in Congress tried legislating trans kids out of sports and they FAILED. @maxwellfrost.bsky.social took the "Child Predator Empowerment Act" head-on and the political will wasn't there. All the more absurd, then, that SCOTUS will take this on. We have to fight. www.aclu.org/press-releas...

Incredible news for trans people - the Medicaid provision is out of the Trump horror bill. It did not require a point of order vote, and instead, Republicans pulled it out on their own, likely knowing they would lose the vote.

Good job to everyone for calling their Senators.
News: The most recent GOP reconciliation bill no longer has the provision to ban Medicaid from being used on gender-affirming care

The parliamentarian had disqualified the provision, but Republicans had left it on the text — it now has been removed

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social's victory is a trans movement victory. When you stand unapologetically behind trans kids, it doesn't matter whether you're a Kentucky moderate (@andybeshearky.bsky.social) or a DSA member. You're something more important: principled. And you win. 🏳️‍⚧️ #zohran #nycmayor

What just happened at Columbia is a warning: we will go down fighting or go down anyways. There are No. Other. Options.

They capitulated to the right, brought in NYPD, hired Mike Pompeo for goodness sake, and still got hammered by fascism.

We must for academic freedom No. Matter. What.

@zoandbehold.bsky.social was a true role model for me as I found the courage to come out, transition, and lead as my whole self. She's continuing the hard work that made that possible, and I am so, so grateful.
These kind of votes are born out of trans representation in government.

Rep. Howell & I have built solid relationships with Republicans and those relationships change hearts, minds, and (eventually) votes.

It is painful, grueling work. But it makes a difference.
Two BIG wins in Motnana!

We killed two anti-trans bills today (a drag ban & a bill requiring CPS to remove trans kids from parents).

I'm so grateful for Montana Democrats, who have stood unwavering in their support of trans rights. And grateful to all the Republicans who said enough is enough.
