A big thank you to @jon.inkle.co of @inkle.co for chatting with me about how the studio's wonderful Heaven's Vault started life as a Dr Who game. It was fascinating 💛

I really wanted to like Hell is Us more than I did. It ticks so many boxes for me and I adore its general vibe and atmosphere, but it's let down by shallow combat and some tedious, divisive design choices.
Hell is Us treads a fine line between cryptic and tedious, though its nightmarish world is enticing.

Last week, I had the pleasure of chatting with Rogue Factor about Hell is Us, a game set in a country ravaged by infighting and in the midst of a civil war. "It's never done gratuitously... [but] we want to depict human conflicts as realistically as possible." www.eurogamer.net/history-is-r...

It’s actually really difficult for on-staff games journalists to make time for playing games during work hours. Most big reviews are written by people giving up their weekends.

Every one hour of an audiobook takes three hours of work. You burn hours trying to drink away mouth pops, redoing too loud or too soft lines, and forgetting how to say “penguin”

This is the longest preview I've ever written, but Death Stranding 2 warrants it. I wasn't a huge fan of the first game, but after 30hrs in the sequel I am absolutely desperate to play more.
