Eigenaardige typering van het Zwitserse spoornetwerk. Dat is namelijk een land met treinen die van de ene kant van het land naar de andere gaan, zoals bij ons (want dat is operationeel gezien logisch). Zo gaat IC1 van Genève-Aéroport tot St. Gallen, of IC21 van Basel tot Lugano.
