Okay. For those of you who have started using @flashes.blue - did you create a separate account for that? I did but now I’m not sure I should have. Idk what I’m doing here. 😆🤷🏼‍♀️

I have spent the last month being devastated and looking for ways out. Today I decided to get mad and become the loudest, most subversive and most joyful liberal Library Lady I can be.

I think it’s time for a rewatch of the movie Swing Kids.

Called my Republican Representative and Democrat Senators today. If our representatives don’t step up I don’t know what will happen.

Don’t want to doomscroll but also don’t want to hear your own thoughts?? This is a great audiobook narrated by the soothing voice of Benedict Cumberbatch. It’s about theoretical physics. I don’t understand much of it - and that in itself is strangely soothing. Highly recommend. 💙📚

Ok people. How are we resisting this week??!? I’m planning on going to a school board meeting, calling my reps and state attorney generals (thank you @5calls.org), and continuing to provide Know Your Rights cards to students. What should I add to the list?? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Here's recently resurfaced footage from CNN of then-Senators Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham voicing their unfettered, full-throated support for foreign aid.

They would HATE it if these clips went viral.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed right now with the constant barrage of breaking news. But there are some simple things you can do -
🔵 Connect with other 🔵 in real life - find people to fight alongside.
✊🏾 Show up. You don’t have to speak - just be there, at least at first.

If you are an educator make sure you are a member of a teacher association that offers legal coverage - it can be your states chapter of the NEA or a state organization (like PAGE in Georgia) ⚖️

What I’m reading on the plane. We all need to do what we can, when we can. If all you can do today to contribute is learn something about authoritarianism that you didn’t know before, that’s good enough. A little is better than none. Keep going.

Can we just go back to letting China have our data instead of Elon Musk?? Can we take a vote or something??!?

Sometimes I log in to the clock app to see what my son has reposted and then I quickly realize that we are not meant to see our 13 year olds thoughts. 😆 Also none of it makes any sense whatsoever. 🤣

Today I printed the Immigrant's Rights one-pager from the @aclu.org website for the ESOL students at my high school in their native language. It was an easy way to provide information as a librarian and let them know I'm a safe place. Here is the link: www.aclu.org/know-your-ri...
