Head of Space, Science Museum.
Pinned
I am absolutely delighted to tell you that I am joining the amazing team at the @sciencemuseumldn.bsky.social as their new Head of Space.

The Museum, and especially the Space Gallery, have always been very special to me. I still can't quite believe it's going to be my new professional home.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks at @sciencemuseum.org.uk as we’ve been putting the finishing touches to our wonderful new Space gallery. It opens on Saturday, and we’re celebrating with a weekend full of free space themed activities.

Waking up to news this morning, that the UK Space Agency is being absorbed by DSIT. I'm pleased to see the line that it will be "staffed by experts and retain the UK Space Agency name"

Stephanie Shirley is perhaps one of the lesser known tech pioneers, but she shouldn't be. Back in the 60s she saw the potential for women in tech, setting up a company for them to code from home, going by the name Steve because it was a man's world. RIP Dame Shirley

Every time journalists write up a Colossus press release, They are making people stupider. Client journalism by a ridiculous company.

Thurday's good pass in the UK is 19.14. Happy spotting!
The UK is getting back into a run of evening sightings of the ISS, and (whisper it) maybe clear skies. Tonight's good pass is 20:01 in Swindon, but you can look up your times at spotthestation.nasa.gov.

Look West at the right time, look out for a really bright, moving dot, and give the Crew a wave.

Today's reminder that this not a rescue mission, this is a long planned handover, the response to the Starliner issues last summer and has been planned like this for 6 months. The crew had an extended stay, yes, but they've not been abandoned or forgotten about.
Morning. There's lot of press about the Crew 10 launch this morning. Just so we are clear - this IS NOT the capsule being launched to 'get' the Butch, Suni, Nick and Aleksandr. Their ride home is safely docked to ISS and has been for the last 6 months....
