What a treat to represent AromaPrime for this article in The Guardian!

I discuss how themed smells are developed, with a focus on scary attractions. 👻

The article will be printed on Saturday. 👃

Experience: I create smells that scare people
The scents that get people gagging the most are usually bin juice or rotting fish

Efteling's jasmine-scented Chinese Nightingale display is being retired.

Here is a sneaky photograph of the Death entity figure. It is hidden opposite the stage, under the space visitors stand on. When lights illuminate it, it appears as a ghostly apparition, reflecting against glass onstage.

I wonder if The Chinese Nightingale's exciting new form will be AI generated ✨

A piece in the Telegraph today (www.telegraph.co.uk/gift/27e9c89...) that reminds everybody that Cecilia Bembibre and I are interested in the UK smells that YOU might want to preserve for posterity (and you can log them here: smelluk.org/participate/)

Disney's new video about parade smells reveals this float "scent machine".

I can see they have actually taped two old ScentAir cartridges together and attached them to a blower fan!

I suspect they top the old cartridges up manually with scent oil.

Makeshift! 🔧

I recently discovered this glorious caramel perfume at an airport. This week, I ordered a large bottle.

Now I smell like Efteling pancakes. 🥞

I enjoyed working with Weymouth Museum to reintroduce some of the historical smells that could be sniffed at the now-defunct Timewalk attraction!

I made a smell diary at Universal Studios Japan! 👃🎢

Most of the park's scents are incidental, but this provides a lifelike feeling and makes the purposely-applied scents more impactful.

Universal Studios Japan is fabulous, but I think music lets it down.

Modern pop songs in 1970s Amity, pop songs down the entrance avenue, pop songs in Minion Land...

A park having its own music gives it a feeling of quality. The shift in Harry Potter Land, with its own music, was noticeable.

I was recently contacted by the Mary Todd Lincoln House in Kentucky, as they were hoping to create new smell stations.

The final smell stations include scent oils and organic materials. The top of each unit can be removed for replenishing the scents.

Brilliant work by the museum team!

Atmospheric smell on the JAWS ride

Bothersome health issues encouraged me to make the most of not being dead etc., and I have booked a Florida holiday for next year. ☀️🐊

I shall be dressing like this specifically.

The Jaws ride at USJ includes a moment where the boat floats into a dark shed. The water is black and the air smells of fuel. This sensory effect heightens the anticipation.

The surrounding town of Amity smells of cooking food, which suggests the busy presence of the unseen residents.
