Only Trump could use the #Epstein files he's implicated in to go after high profile Democrats, while also pardoning a billionaire for insider trading, (because of what happens to immigrants with criminal records), while empowering ICE to hunt down with prejudice anyone with a criminal record...

The home secretary called the system a "failed experiment" - and less than 20% of voters can name their PCC, the Home Office said.

Just a sanity check. What % of voters can name their MP?

An M.I.T. study found that 95% of companies that had invested in A.I. tools were seeing zero return. It jibes with the emerging idea that generative A.I., “in its current incarnation, simply isn’t all it’s been cracked up to be,” John Cassidy writes. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/mlYgP3

In the US, it costs 4c to make a cent coin.
BUT it costs 13.8c to make a nickel.

Maybe they should just scrap money altogether... Star Trek did it, right? Overnight, billionaires are no richer - or poorer - than anyone else. Well, anyone else with a yacht, three mansions, and a private jet..

Amaz*n does shit like this, because it can.
And doesn't rush to fix it, because it doesn't care.
That is the problem with a monopoly. That is the problem with Amaz*n. Arbitrary decisions with dire repercusions for everyone - except Amaz*n.

I'd argue the UK rising unemployment rate has less to do with AI replacing people's jobs, as corporate using AI replacing people's jobs as an excuse to make cuts (or to not hire graduates). They might even believe it. But as AI has yet to be shown to improve productivity, they might be disappointed.

Based on that flag, it looks like Trump expects to lose 19 or 20 US states?

Which... Perhaps isn't that surprising. But IS a whizzo move - since about that many (depending on how you count them) are democrat governed. So having them spin off into a new nation might guarantee Trump a third term...

Streeting isn't Starmer, but Labour under Streeting would be pretty much indistinguishable from Labour under Starmer. They've ploughed a narrow field of appeasing those who will never vote for them, and while hobbled by Tory Brexit and economy, aren't prepared to be bold enough.

IDF razes undamaged buildings and destroys orchards, continues to kill and maim Palestinians. Israel settlers attack Palestinian villages in the West Bank. These are the actions of the agressor, convinced there will be no action taken.
Israel has destroyed more than 1,500 buildings in Gaza since ceasefire
Entire neighbourhoods controlled by Israel have been levelled in less than a month, the images show.

AI art gets (stealth) hung in gallery.
Visitors "wondered why such a poor quality AI piece was hanging there without being labelled as AI", and approached staff only to be told no-one knew what it was.
This is AI "art" in a nutshell: Tries to pass itself of as something, but plainly isn't.

After USSR disintegrated, and there was no "natural" world enemy, and the Bond plots struggled, having to make do with drug smugglers and other "minor" enemies. Killing off Blofeld has a similar effect. So why not go "back" to the golden era of world politics, pre Bond's death?
Spoiler: it’s because he died. The writers of a franchise whose main character has been played by seven actors across sixty years think they have to come up with a plot explanation for the character coming back after dying in the previous movie. radaronline.com/p/james-bond...

When ICE detain American citizens because of the colour of their skin, when they doubt their ID, when they accuse them of being illegal, the true nature of the deportation policy is clear.
It was never about their visas, criminal record, or country of birth.
It was because they weren't white.

When the Turing test was conceived (and it isn't, necessarily, a perfect test of anything) I doubt anyone considered a machine that took in (AKA stole) entire corpuses of text and interactions, and used that to spew out the "most plausible" reply.
This is not a true test of intelligence, of course.

The conditions for Musk's trillion dollar bonus MIGHT appear onerous and unlikely, given Tesla's recent performance, one trillion dollars is enough to make most of it happen.

The question for Elon is - what to do with the 20 million Teslas, one million Robotaxis, and one million robots after?

Opposing actions of the Israeli government does not equal antisemitism. (The UN opposes those actions. So do many Jews. So do many Israelis.)

It IS fair game to argue that supporting actions of the Israeli government and IDF in Gaza DOES equal supporting genocide.

Does that include Paramount?
Under new head of Paramount David Ellison, the studio has drawn up a list of actors who opposed the Gaza genocide and will not allow them to appear in its films and TV shows.

Does this sound familiar?

Also, "Ellison is reportedly aiming to take over Warner Bros. next."
Paramount Has Blacklist for Stars Deemed “Overtly Antisemitic” — World of Reel
It sure looks like the likes of Javier Bardem, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Mark Ruffalo won’t be making movies for Paramount in the foreseeable future.

There will be scientific papers on why LLM AIs hallucinate, lie, and are generally bad at all manner of tasks. Why they're unable to pass Turing tests, why they're not "gen" AI.
All of which should have come before governments invested billions in tax payer money to force them down our throats.

Elon Musk is an enemy of humankind.

As is every other billionaire.

As for trillionaires... why? What can you buy with a trillion that you can't buy with a billion? Except for a country, perhaps. But hasn't he already done that?
