Checked out the Shibuya Games Week, pretty neat! Mostly just stuff for sale, but a small showing of indie. Cool to see in such a premium space, stuff like Coffee Talk. Fahmi would lose his mind 😊

I remember back to the UK last year & going into a Sports Direct & being absolutely baffled at the GAME section.

Man, I worked so damn hard to get a job there when I was at Uni. I adored it, spent all my paycheck on cheap staff discounted JRPGs that never got a chance to hit the shelf for punters 😆

Is it a good thing that still after 2 years of development, you can't stop yourself from getting distracted by your own systems while playtesting?

Nothing, and I mean nothing, sucks more than a producer who doesn’t realize they actually want to be a designer or writer, etc. When this happens it screws up feedback, communication, team morale, and leads to a lot of wasted time. Sucks so much.

Cairn is very good.

But, all I can think is how I need an immediate tech/level breakdown from the team on how on earth they made the mountain. Incredible.

It has to be some generated geo, that is scanned & tweaked based on a bunch of params, if this ”hand designed“, I think my brain will 🤯
