In disasters and crises, gender and sexual minorities are not only impacted but also play key roles in the response, whether officially or through community action.

Visibility matters: we’re here, we’re queer, and we’re helping to save lives in emergencies.

Inclusion saves lives.

Many LGBTQIA+ people miss out on vital warnings because messages do not reflect their realities or reach the spaces where they feel safe.

Accessible, trusted and community shaped information strengthens safety for everyone.

#InclusiveDRR
Good communication is at the heart of #disaster preparedness. If people cannot understand or trust a warning, it will not work.

We need messages shaped for real communities, in the right languages and formats, and tested with those they are meant to reach.

The Emmy wins for Adolescence spotlight identity and the “masculinity crisis.”

In disasters, masculinities are rarely addressed, yet they shape risk and recovery.

Research exists but lags far behind.
