Looking good from the angles that matters most.

Filling the shelf.

None of these stuff are bought. A result of my overly active imagination

I am having a dilemma.

I am runing out of my electronic parts to build robots. I want to build a lot more but it seems that I have to cannibalize the old to buid the new

I guess I can put the older parts in a project box or something...

Fuchikoma chassis is finished

The chasis is widened considerably to make room for the spider tank's face and arms. The exibition may be over but my development continues.

Ad hoc guard rail is added to protect the PCB board. It is unlikely that a robot with this kind of COG will tip over but better be safe than sorry. Afterall, visitor of all kinds will be driving it.

I am at a temporary impasse.

I have done all I could in my head. Either this thing will have enough traction to move a 1kg robot or it won't.

It wouldn't be the first time I made a robot that won't even skid on a flat ground. The only thing left now is to print out and test.

Over the course of desiging parts for my robots I discovered the limit of how small I can make a gear teeth and #3Dprinted it out with repeatable result. And here's the limit. If you are using a FDM printer it won't get smaller than this (unit is in mm.)

Tachikoma (project name) spherical wheel dimensions are dialed in. No gear slip so far.

Traction is questionable but that's to be expected from ABS plastic. TPU material could improve it but I will cross that bridge when I get there.

Here's one of my idea that I haven't got around to develop further. Alternate WW2 / Dieselpunk mech suit.

So far only 1 design was made then I completely forgot about it. Not sure if people would want something like this.

Here's wild idea I got lying on my bed:

1) Acquire a cheap RC tank
2) Harvest the electronics
3) Put it in my custom chassis

A micro controller is overkill for something so simple as driving 2 DC motors. Cheap electronics from a donor toy will be good enough and it comes with a remote control

Maybe unpopular opinion but I believe any job that can be done at home should be allowed to be done at home.
Office transit burns massive fuel, building aircon is energy intensive.
People could spend more time on leisure or self improvement and spend more money on goods, driving the economy.

Vishwakarma kinetic sculture. The gears behind the God of Craftmanship is motorized.

If you told my 18 yr. old self that one day I will be scultpting a God I'd have laughed. I was just rejected by the University of Fine Arts then, on the ground that my drawing sucked.

Very steampunk. I am waiting for a silent clock gearbox to arrive so I can hook it up to a motor.

Replaced all the joints with FDM printed plastic parts. Unfortunately, doing everything with resin is not feasible but at least I can crank out one in 18 hour instead of 48.
.
It also use only 1 kind of bolt for everything, making the build much more streamlined.
