It's time. Knitters warm your needles. There are many reasons' for why we knit so crazily at this time of year. For me and perhaps to you, It is simply that this season of the year, what ever and how ever you celebrate always seems to involve gifting and sharing what we have and like you I like to create gifts for those I love and for those in need.

Squared Off

A square is a pretty simple shape, but it hold so many possibilities. For a knitter a square is often a nuisance, an "I told you so!" and "...really, do I have too!" And yes "Really you do! Or should!" I swatch a lot. As a designer it is really important to understand the yarn chosen,…

What’s On Your Needles?

Right now I am working on a few different ideas. A cabled hat, a dress and a shawl (both have been hibernation for too long), a headband, a couple of sweaters, and way too many others projects that need assessment! I think this one exceeds the sum of its parts! What do you…

It is #showmeyourcables week. This is one of my personal favourite hat patterns, Smitten. It features the x and o pattern paired with the classic tree of life.

There is still a storage locker so there will be more downsizing to come. But I am still knitting. Borealis Mitts for a November Class. #showmeyourknits guest host @samantha-west.bsky.social is looking for #cowls.

The Funnel Cowl is a quick knit in a DK weight yarn. Pick something soft and warm as it sits close to your skin. This one was knit with a merino/yak blend from my stash.

Early Spring on Vancouver Island means Fawn Lilies in the wild places. These are often called Curly Lilies.

These were found at the Cassidy Canyon swim hole. A few Trilliums are starting as well!
