Looks like LLMs are *very* vulnerable to attack via poetic allusion: "curated poetic prompts yielded high attack-success rates (ASR), with some providers exceeding 90% ..."

@sarahkriesche.bsky.social Hi! Did you moderate Jaron Lanier's lecture on digital humanism at TU Wien yesterday? I got no mail about the event from the TU and missed the event by one day.
Is there any follow up event or lecture?

Heya, I posted my first video to youtube :)
It's a small list of tools you can use to turn off social media recommendation algorithms and make the whole experience a bit less addictive.

If you're in Japan, important PSA!

Add this to your ~/.ssh/config:

IPQoS none

Turns out the default SSH QoS/DSCP setting puts you in a traffic class that NTT FLET'S IPoE treats as priority, but limited to 10mbps!

I was wondering why IPv6 rsync was so slow... (affects git push too!)

Super excited to share my contribution to Humanity's last exam!

This is my first time as a co-author on a paper!
I share this role with many people who also contributed to the dataset, but it's a very special moment to me :)

I wrote about a new AI evaluation called "Humanity's Last Exam," a collection of 3,000 questions submitted by leading academics to try to stump leading AI models, which mostly find today's college-level tests too easy.

A Test So Hard No AI System Can Pass It — Yet (Gift Article)
The creators of a new test called “Humanity’s Last Exam” argue we may soon lose the ability to create tests hard enough for A.I. models.

Totally forgot to mention, but my chrome extension Thule was accepted into the chrome webstore :)

It reads the content of your tabs and closes them if they aren't helpful to the goal you set yourself. It does this using a language model.

You're especially welcome if you want to help do something about that. Bonus points for being a programmer or writer.

NEW: 2024 has just been confirmed as the warmest year on record, and the first to breach the 1.5C threshold.

We used a ridgeline (Joy Division inspired) chart to visualise daily temperature anomalies since 1940.

2024 clearly stands out with 100% of its days above 1.3C and 75% above 1.5C.

Finally! Also don't forget about actual human accounts that mass-follow people automatically to gain attention.
We’re aware of the bot followers. We know it’s really irritating for yall. The blade runners are working hard and we’re looking at bigger steps.

We are on this bot problem. We shall fight them on the beaches. We shall fight them in the signup process, we shall fight them in the notifications

Something in my body told me to make a VR window manager today. Got the window streaming working already :)

I neeeeeed to implement gaze interactions so you can just look at a window and have your inputs go there even if you don't have eye tracking...

We gotta do something about these damn bots.

Like why tf would you want to post AI generated slop and mass-follow people to generate engagement for the slop...
