The fracking metaphor is very apt.
It's so perverse that the corporate and financial elites were aware of this, yet perfectly willing to let it glide by. There's no doubt who some of the worst villains are.

Although the article is by en economist and titled "A Post Neoliberal Consensus", it is more pointedly about how liberalism, liberal democracy, can't endure, and the 2024 election, and the downward spiral of the Democratic Party would reflect this. What will post liberalism be?
