Quite excited about this workshop tomorrow. I will be talking about an attempt to establish a British Institute of Archaeology in Turkey in the 1930s as part of the Scottish excavation of the Great Palace of Byzantine Emperors.

A fleeting visit to London to attend an ArtUK roundtable discussion at the Royal Academy on their new project The Superpower of Looking, which aims to enhance visual literacy skills at primary schools. I had the pleasure to share the table and ideas with artists such as Cornelia Parker.

First weekend this semester that I feel I don't need to work to catch up with everything so I spent a nice lazy morning walking around town and picking these books to bring home and read. It feels such a luxury!

Took the students to Edinburgh today and spent some time in the portrait gallery looking closely at two of my favourite paintings by Pietro Fabris (Neapolitan interiors, Grand Tour, fencing, concerts, antiquities, pottery...)
