Another way of looking at this is if each of the US’s 19,000 cities, towns & villages had their own solar thermal plant, THE MEAN AVERAGE would be 2sq km or .77sq miles.

Watching the Ken Burns da Vinci doc on the iplayer, and he's much less assured with something where the evidence is only the paintings and he relies on others' interpretations. This could be anyone, compared to his masterful Vietnam series. Still better than I could do, obvs.
