Having friends for dinner is fun and all, but you quickly run out of friends.

Don't say "kill the bitch", it's common and uncouth. Instead say "perish the thot", it's more elegant and sophisticated. 😁

Sure, studio executives would welcome AI so advanced that they would no longer have to pay for writers, actors, production. But when AI can do all that, what will be the point of a studio? They are cheering for their own replacement and they don't even realize it.

A site where you can upload an image, select a skin tone and a timeline to see how your tattoo ideia would age. I feel like this would make a consistent anount of ad money.

Beyond being the most common voice on literature, Third Person Limited is an awsome name for an agency investigating literary crimes.

People I know, who are independent writers, are doing the AI Ghibli "art" syle trend. I don't know if they are just dumb or total hypocrites, but it pisses me off to see fellow artists doing shit like that just because they are not on the same medium.

2022's The Batman's Batman is a little weeb, eyeliner-wearing edgelord orfan with horn-looking ears that calls himself "Vengeance". He is basically a Thiefling.

Is there a term for companies shooting themselves in the foot by adding AI to apps where the expectation of privacy is paramount, like I don't know, your personal messaging app?

When did we decide as a society that singing is something only professionals can do? It's instinctive, and a fun activity to do either alone or as a group, but it seems there's this layer of shame directed at anyone that dares to be happy without being good at it, which people seem eager to enforce.

3 times a week I start typing a funny thing on bsky, then I realize it fails to consider all of the nuance, start adding more clarifying text, realize what I'm really doing is writing an essay on my phone, so I delete it all and close the page. It should be frustrating, but it's oddly satisfying.

Finished watching Dragon Ball, the original series, and finaly closed the lore gap I still had between it and DBZ. It also eased the transition between the fun adventure series and the more boring fighting archs of the later series. Maybe now I can watch DBZ with less of a sense of loss.

I hear a lot of people talking about how nostalgia and unending sequels are a bad result of capitalism, which I don't disagree with. But maybe it's just as a symptom of how shitty we all feel as a society. I think the market is just responding to a cultural moment, not the other way around.

I've so far identified 3 core characteristics of a dad joke, though they need not all occur at once. They are:
1. Very specific/situational
2. A reach/barely a joke
3. Obvious/low hanging
I'm keen to unpack what each item says about the joke maker. However, I'm not sure this is an exhaustive list.

Your comedy podcast doesn't need a soundboard. It's not funny, it's grating, and you are basically admitting you can't be funny without the artifice.

I hope the franchise is rebooted in 10 years, his character is brought back as the team leader, only to be revealed as the turncoat secret villain, making every fan feel betrayed and frustrated. It would be called Mission Impossible: Operation Karma.
In the pursuit of cinematic realism, Tom Cruise personally built, launched, and crashed a submarine just to get the mise en scène correct for Mission Impossible 8.

I could not be more hyped.
