Kevin Henkes. The repetition and rhythm in the old mouse books have completely influenced my style. I also admire him for adapting to changes in the market. His newer works have significantly lower word counts than the OGs. It’s amazing. Kitten’s First Full Moon is a fave in our house. #pbparty

Same here—I much prefer a computer than a phone. Sometimes though, if inspiration strikes (usually when I’m trying to fall asleep), I’ll hammer out a rough outline on my phone. #kidlitchat
I'm amazed by all the people writing using their phones. I HATE typing on screens because it's so slow and I make so many typos. But I type really fast on a keyboard (almost fast enough to keep up with how quickly my brain moves). Even writing by hand feels slow in comparison. #kidlitchat

Scrivener is new to me—checking it out now! As a PB author, I hate having to have a separate doc stripped of art notes to get an accurate word count. Wonder if Scrivener could help with that?
I'm a big fan of Scrivener for drafting!! Also, I need DMs to brainstorm and work out plot problems with my beloved critique partners. #kidlitchat

I recently discovered Apple Music’s “Focus” mixes—they’re awesome! Mostly downtempo tones. It helped a ton when I needed to really concentrate on revising.
