There should be a ridiculous surcharge on bottled water coming from over 30 miles away. Having lorry loads of water being carted up and down the country is baffling, let alone from the other side of the planet.

As we hurtle north, autumn seemingly surrenders and Home Counties hills fall away. Sun flickers and flashes through the carriage catching faces, drawing them westward.
