Here's my nerdy take on all the government BS - I'm playing Star Wars: Jedi Survivor for the first time and realizing, after hearing certain bits of dialogue, that the USA has pretty much become the Empire. Not a fun feeling.

I'll take being in the Rebel Alliance - in any capacity - any day.

Amidst all the chaos of the first few weeks of the Trump administration, they're working to pass the SAVE Act, which would require American citizens nationwide to provide a passport or birth certificate in person to register to vote. Here's why this is a big problem:

Things that make me feel old: going in for a chat with a CFA advisor, transcripts in hand. The advisor grins & says, "Oh, wow! It's been a long time since I've handled paper transcripts. I'm so used to them just coming through email."
And here I thought I was keeping up with the times pretty well! 🙃

I've been trying to pin down the *exact* reason why I'm so enraged with what's happening, and I think I've finally figured it out.

I want a government filled with decent human beings - people who genuinely care about their fellow humans and want to make sure we all have what we need to live well.

If Medicaid gets frozen for good/axed because the people who can do the right thing about it *won’t*, my parents won’t have healthcare anymore. It’ll be the same for so many others. I was mad before, but I want to go freaking *binary* now.

Remember: no matter what happens, no matter what lies are told and fantasies are constructed, the truth remains the truth regardless of who likes it or not.

I've pared down my social media to here, FB, and Insta. While I'm very seriously considering leaving the latter two, I actually have what I consume there curated so that I only see stuff from most of my friends, things that make me happy, and things that make me think. However...

Time to get active here! I just need to remember more often now. 😆
