Love to talk with sane people but limited political talk for my sanity. Love comics, books, movies, travel and bad jokes. Or tell me a fun story.
Didn’t Biondi already say she did a full investigation of Epstein and there was nothing to release. Would assume that if she had anything on Dems and Epstein she would have already released it. So is Trump calling her a liar for saying there was nothing to release?

The Pentagon has summoned military officials from around the world for a gathering in Virginia. Top generals and their staffs don’t know the reason for the meeting.

Great story on impact of Trump’s tariffs and elimination of the de minimis mailing rules.
"The real kick in the teeth is no matter how much manufacturing is brought back to the US these items will never be made in the USA. There is no upside."

As we predicted, the end of de minimis has made every hobby that requires the purchase of items more expensive.

@scalzi.com I’m new over the past year or so to reading your books (started with Red Shirts). I’ve read most of your books now including Agent to the Stars and really loved them. I am now reading The Android’s Dream. My question is - were you high when you wrote this?

@garethjohnbrown.bsky.social just finished the Society of Unknowable Objects. I tore through it. Fun expansion of the Book of Doors universe. Can’t wait for the team up to come!

@scalzi.com I bought Agent to the Stars after you discussed it here (not the expensive 1st edition hardcover). An amazing first effort! Great characters, believable ending. Like many of your books, they feel real with one outlandish premise (moon turns to cheese, Kaijus exist). Thanks for the reads

Never done a #FridayReads post before, but my novel The Naming Song is about fighting authoritarianism with every ounce of our love, our rage, our language, and our art (and a whole lot of monsters). In case that seems relevant. thirdarchive.net#thenamingsong

If someone says that Trump is going to return money to “us” ask them who the “us” is. Most people will get tax savings far below what they will lose in government subsidies such as Medicaid or Medicare, food stamps or other programs. Very few will actual get net $ in their already wealthy pockets

@jakobkerr.bsky.social just finished Dead Money. A fantastic read with a great ending. It sucked me in and I read it all in two days. I’m hoping you have more novels in you, but for now bask in this first success.

Asked Grok how DOGE was doing: “The initiative’s bold promises seem more performative than achievable, given the complexity of federal systems and legal constraints. The establishment narrative [Musk] exaggerates savings, while critics highlight ideological motivations over genuine efficiency.”
