Shooting at Peggy's Cove this morning. Tourists looking at the lighthouse while I found this elegant creature in the opposite direction! He/she was pretty chill while I worked, but eventually gave me a few prehistoric-sounding squawks of annoyance and moved farther away. Magnificent bird! #heron

This little one scooted past me near the waterline on the rocks at Peggy's Cove, NS this morning. Birders, help me out here. Is this a semi-palmated sandpiper? It was in motion almost constantly and was a challenge to photograph!

I felt the need this Easter Sunday morning to inhale some salty air at a foggy Lawrencetown Beach. I caught the surf just as it was beginning to wind down a bit, I think. Got lucky with the pair of herons flying over. Both images are hand-held; yay for vibration reduction!

Well, I hauled ass out of bed at 3 am to shoot the lunar eclipse. This was taken at about 3:30 am from our balcony in Bedford, NS. I'm a zombie today, but it was worth it! 🧟‍♀️

Knitting Martina Behm's Easy shawlette. #knitting Cool--you knit 50% of the wool in one direction and finish with the remaining 50% knit at 90 deg to the first half. I used hand-dyed merino from Hfx's Fleece Artist yarns. Colour is Swan Lake. Pattern on Ravelry: www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

Had a "holy sh*t look at the Moon" moment last evening and dashed out onto the balcony to take a shot. Waxing crescent Moon very close to the bright star-like planet Venus. We are lucky we face west for moments like this. It was cold out there in only a hoodie!

Happy to be a part of the blue KAL #knitsky #knitting. These are very "vanilla" socks for a friend, using Custom Woolen Mills 2-ply sock yarn in colour Footloose.

Moir's Mill Creek at the foot of Hammonds Plains Rd, early this morning before the Sun fully came up. I should have brought duck food with me! A small group of mallards approached and I had to disappoint them.

~40 yrs ago I was in Hfx Shopping Ctr when they were hosting crafts made by kids. A boy + his dad were displaying their wooden baking racks + I bought one. I still remember the boy's beaming face. I am baking bread today + would like that young man to know that his baking rack is going strong!❤️

Even pigeons are beautiful. This flock flew over me as I stood on the rocks at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia this morning. Such a lovely variety of colours and markings among the birds--I was amazed.

A bit of rough water out at Peggy's Cove this morning, looking down the coastline toward Halifax. For once, I managed to catch a nicely-placed gull!
